This is a “one more reason why we love our customers” story . . .

A week or so ago, a nice lady (later identified as Deanna Ulvestad) wandered into our store and discovered our stash of handmade papers that we acquired when Sue Rothamel of USArtQuest retired a few years ago.  To say that Deanna was excited would be an understatement — she picked out several sheets that she liked, and while she was at it started rearranging everything on the shelves!

Gary walked past Deanna during this process, and she actually asked him if she could come in and work on this in her spare time!  Like we’re going to turn this down . . .

We learned that Deanna is a retired archivist, who spent more than 30 years cataloguing and rearranging lots of things at lots of places, including the Greene County Public Library and WYSO Radio in Yellow Springs.  So this sort of thing comes naturally to her.

After about 2 1/2 days that she actually seemed to enjoy, Deanna walked out of the store this afternoon with an armload of handmade paper for her efforts.  You’ll discover her handiwork in a couple of places in our store — and it should make it a whole lot easier for you to enjoy our selection.

Thanks, Deanna!
