Mirricard 12 pt:  a reflective highly glossy cardstock.  Its foremost use is for layering pieces, but you can stamp on it as well.  The ONLY types of ink which will air dry on Mirricard are permanent inks such Ranger 213 Permanent Ink for Non Porous Hard Surfaces,Brilliance Inkpads, and Stāz-On Inkpads. You CAN heat emboss on Mirricard for wonderful dimensional effects, heat carefully so as not to warp the cardstock.

Suede Paper:  A very soft and versatile cardstock which feels just like suede.  Suede paper can be stamped on with any type of inkpad and you can also heat emboss it.  It holds the detail of intricate stamps just as well as bold stamps.  Save the little strips and pieces for collage, layering and paper weaving projects.  Many mediums of color work beautifully when applied directly to the suede paper, these include, but are not limited to: watercolors, liquid acrylics, markers, Bruynzeel Pastel pencils, colored pencils and blender pens.

moiremaroon.jpg (13301 bytes) moiremauve.jpg (14996 bytes) moirelightblue.jpg (15940 bytes) moireivory.jpg (9354 bytes)
Burgundy Pink Light Blue Cream

Note: Empress Moiré is extremely difficult to scan because of the moiré pattern.
Emerald is actually dark green, but it simply will not scan true to color.

Empress Moiré:  This is textured to give the feel of fabric.  You can stamp on it, semi-permanent inks (such as watercolor inks and Ranger Archival Inks) and Brilliance inks will stamp best for you, bold type stamps do tend to stamp best.  Layering works beautifully, and you can also heat emboss.  Use an anti-static bag/product first, then stamp and emboss. Be careful to not over heat when heat embossing.

Though shiny, it is very absorbent.  When using paints, they do not feather or bleed out when they come in contact with the cardstock and it does not tend to warp when you apply a wet paint or water to the surface.  Colored pencils, pastel pencils and chalks work beautifully with this cardstock too.  Empress Moiré is absorbent enough that Radiant Pearls will air dry on it as well.  Liquid acrylic paints are also very lovely when used with this cardstock.

Vivelle:  This is very soft and subtle.  To touch it reminds one of terry cloth, very soft and fluffy.

The first choice for this paper would be to use it as a layering piece, or for added visual and dimensional interest in a collage. You can also stamp on it. Dye inks and semi-permanent inks work well to stamp on the paper.  Dye inks will dry a bit lighter than semi-permanent inks, and you loose a tiny bit of detail when using the dye ink. The wet time is extended a bit. It's best to heat set the inks on the Vivelle by holding your heat gun about 8-12 inches from the surface of the paper while heating it up.  Be very careful with this paper, it will slightly melt if you get it too hot. Once heat set, spray it lightly with spray sealant, then it's ready to color.

The mediums of color that seem best suited for direct applications on Vivelle are watercolors, markers, Lumieres, Neopaques.  Because the paper is "fluffy", you don't get a solid surface to color.  Markers give a very unique effect when you use the brush end of the marker with a "daubing" motion.  It gives you a very nice dimensional effect that makes you think of a flocked image. If you loose a bit of detail when coloring the image, take a permanent marker, such as a Sharpie, and bring out the detail with the marker. Bold and semi-detailed stamps work well on this paper.

Diamond Dust:  This is a lightweight cardstock that has glitter particles embedded into the surface with a light texture.  This gives a wonderful “twinkly” look, and can simulate movement within the piece you are creating.  The surface of the cardstock has a slightly plastic, non-absorbent surface.

This is great for layering, but you can also stamp on it.  Due to the non-absorbent surface, dye inks and pigment inks will not stamp well on this cardstock. However, I have found that Fabrico ink works nicely when heat set, the ink dries to a nice matte finish.  Brilliance inkpads, Ranger 213 inkpads, and Stāz-On inkpads will also air dry. You can also heat emboss, be careful you don’t melt the surface with too much heat.  It is advisable to use an anti-static product prior to stamping when you heat emboss.  Any product which works well with plastic, vinyl and non-porous surfaces will work on the Diamond Dust cardstock.

Mulberry Paper -- India Flower, India Silk, Nepalese Hand-dyed Paper, Thai Confetti Paper, Thai Banana Bark Triplet, Thai Floral, Thai Banana, Thai Unryu:  These are beautiful hand made papers which work wonderfully as layers or even as the main card itself.  They can be easily torn for a “deckled” edge, or cut with scissors.  They have a nice matte surface, so you can stamp in effectively with almost any type of ink.  Just about any medium of color may be used, if desired.  Some of the papers do have a slight texture, so some mediums of color may not work as well.  These papers are also stunning when used in bookmaking and collage projects.

MASQUERADE BY WINTECH

Masquerade:  This is the world’s wildest and craziest paper.  It’s very fuzzy and has a nice loft to it.  It would be perfect for dimensional pieces in pop up cards and other collage type pieces.  Also wonderful for layering.

Multi Media/Aqualelle Cardstocks (scan to come):  140# cold press, 100% cotton cardstock.  Highly absorbent, perfect for watercolors and other wet media.  It’s also spectacular when used with chalks, chalk pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, watercolor pencils and many other mediums of color.

Wave Pattern Corrugate 130#, Corduroy Corrugate 130#, Archival Corrugate Duplex 130#:  These are wonderful when used as layering pieces.  They are also stiff enough to be used as book covers for small books, or cut as mattes for framed pieces.  Since they do have a matte surface, you can sponge or use Direct to Paper techniques to add color and visual interest if desired.

PETAL PAPER CARDSTOCK

Exotic Petal Cardstock/Petal Card 80#:  This is a wonderful matte cardstock with small, individual flower petal inclusions.  The cardstock is flat with virtually no texture.   It takes almost all types of wet media beautifully (block first), as well as pencils and pastels of all types.  Radiant Pearls are stunning on this. All types of inks air dry on it, and it is quite useful for any technique or product that can be used on a matte surface.

Transparencies/Non-Heat (scan to come):  Wonderful for use with many stamping projects.  Stained glass window cards with glitter, glass paints, Lumiere and Neopaque paints, Pearl Ex mixed with PPA to make a paint will also work.  The Caught in Crystal/Future Floor Wax technique requires transparencies. Do NOT heat emboss on this.  To stamp on it, you will need a permanent ink such as Ranger 213, or Brilliance inkpads. Transparencies are a non-porous surface, so any product or technique which works on a non-porous surface will work on transparencies.

Transparencies/Heat Resistant (scan to come):  This is the same as Transparencies/Non-heat, except you CAN heat emboss on it.  This widens the range of inks that can be used for stamping.  Heat slowly when heat embossing. An anti-static product is recommended when heat embossing.

Sticker Label Paper (scan to come)This comes in many colors, matte and glossy finishes.  You can stamp on it, embossing on it, print on it with your printer.  GREAT for faux postage projects. Adjust inks, mediums of color and techniques to fit either a glossy surface or a matte surface (depending on which type of Sticker Label Paper you are using).

Stardream Cover 105#:  This is a satiny/pearlescent type cardstock that works like a semi-glossy cardstock.  Any type of ink will air dry on it, heat embossing works just fine.  Intricately detailed stamps hold their detail, photo art type stamps are quite beautiful on this.  All products and techniques that work with matte cardstock will work with Stardream.  When using either markers or dye based reinkers as a colorant, the shimmery nature of the Stardreams shows through beautifully.  While this cardstock does react to moisture and heat, it will lay flat again after cooling and/or drying.  Dry or wet products may be used effectively on this cardstock.
